I'm still waiting for the OP to give us the original links he supposedly got them from ....

... oh well, he's probably still busy photoshop-tweaking the second "screencap" before he posts it again.

In theory you'd be mistaken. The way a whip works is that it accumulates all the momentum in an arm/shoulder swing to travel down a lash of smaller and smaller diameter. The conservation of momentum will drive more distant segments of the whip to higher and higher velocities - the small end of the whip cracks because it's actually breaking the sound barrier ... A whip has a certain optimal range, though a user can choke up on his lash or manipulate it to affect targets of different distances. Still, up close a whip is pretty much useless.

Unless they hired 5 year olds to do the new skill icons I'd say these look pretty fake to me. Although maybe an intern did them. *shrugs*

No but you did use it as an argument as being fake. I could easily see you say it is fake because of the damage.

lol..font kerning?

I think it is a fake not because of the SS but because we are still posting in this topic. I am quite sure that some Alpha testers are browsing this forum right now. Maybe some are mods They know which ones are against the NDA and which ones arent. If this topic is nuked in the near future then we will know if this is a fake or not.

Good day sir and have fun with this topic. I am going on to Guild Wars and play a little. I will wait until Chapter 2 to see if they add whips.

Here's the first person to post these. http://forums.gwonline.net/showthrea...6&page=1&pp=10

All the person who made these said when he posted was "OMGZ do you think FEMA will get mad?" I think they mean the PETA or whatever that organization is that zealously campaings against the ban of meat.

The Deathly Swarm animation that you see on the other Stone Summit in the background is supposed to be the Cyclone Whip spell or whatever that was, I think. If you look on the radar, there is a necromancer standing behind her casting it.

Additionally, it claims that the "\" key would open and close the "Target Priority" window. Our scammer didn't do his homework, because "\" is already assigned by default to "Target Nearest".

Here's my complete statement, "It's interesting to see a bullwhip that does more basic damage than any sword, axe or bow. I don't recall anyone ever getting beheaded or dying from a single lash of a whip ... lol" - If it's not obvious, I'm ridiculing the whip stats - As I recall "Beheading" isn't in GW either.

read my statement again carefully, "Crotalus seems to be the only one here who thinks it might be real ..." I didn't say you thought it WAS real - I said you think it MIGHT BE real. You entertained that thought when you said this:

everyone else was just dismissing it as a complete hoax ... Since you HOPE it's real, it's safe to say you think it MIGHT BE real.

Geez. With the sense of logic demonstrated here I hope you have a lawyer to help you read contracts in the future.

Don't leave so soon! I was just making espresso!

All in good fun. If they add whips I'll still give you 1 gold piece.

It would be an awesome idea if true, but most likely not true.

I looked with a zoom thing I have on my computer and the skills fit perfectly even in bar and the skills are edited for color but like any other skill.

Also lets not forget that Ranger are the only ones with only one weapon linking to one attruibute to indroducing another does make sense.

I would like this if it were introduced in the game and I would make a because it would make cool beastmasters.

Either someone doesn't have a life or these are real.

I am sorry i am not a secretary. I have no idea what kerning is and how that proves that these ss are a fake. That is why i put a question mark at the end. Please enlighten me! You can use ingame ss as well as the ones in the orginal post.

This is your time to shine, girl!

Yes i did entertain the idea! i would love new weapons. The whip would be a nice addition. I won't buy Chapter 2 unless it has new areas, weapons, armor, and classes. If you dont want new weapons then please dont buy chapter 2.

No, not everybody dismissed it reading this and other forums. They also HOPEd that is included in chapter 2. In fact one stated that it would be an awesome idea. I agree.

I guess the scientist in me doesn't quickly disprove something without getting all the facts. We simply dont have all the facts and wont until it is released. Glancing at a SS is NOT getting all the facts. No matter how you spin it. However, i still think it is a fake but not by your logic.

Yep. It's a great idea, if balanced. But, too bad that the screenshot looks so fake. :P

you people make decisions MUCH too quickly.

Exhibit A: this is a TEST, text is sure to be imperfect, and lighting off key.
Exhibit B: again, this is a TEST, skills most likly will be changed before the release.
Exhibit C: thirtypercent pointed out that the Bull Whip should say 'Bull's Whip of Beast Mastery', maybe the Bull Whip has a +Beast Mastery standard
Exhibit D: the first chapter took many elements from other games and movies and played them into the game, maybe the second chapter will do the same.
Exhibit E: damage of weapons will most likly be changed, again this is a TEST
Exhibit F: I would hope more skills/weapons would be added to chapter 2, how boring would it be otherwise?
Exhibit G: key uses might be changed for chapter 2
Eshibit H: If I could note the comment on 'theres a necro behind her casting Deathly Swarm' please view the first ss. There are no other characters with her, and there is a Gnasher in the Target Priority window
Exhibit I: grammer should not be expected to be absolutely perfect in alpha is it?

point and case. thank you

Heh. The Know-It-Alls thought the assassin concept art was fake too and thought people were stupid for believing it. "OMG That looks so fake! ROFL!!" I'm not saying this is real... it probably isnt because as someone pointed out, this thread hasnt been deleted due to NDA...

Snare does seem ridiculously overpowered... and the whip skills do seem thought up by a kid who wants to "pwn" everything. But all this means nothing since these are supposedly alpha stuff. I've worked as a game tester for several companies and grammar, graphics, and skill balance are hardly ever up to par...that's why things are TESTED.

Anyway, if this is a fake, the person did a good job on the screenshots.

As someone who makes fake screenshots...those are pretty bad.

Font spacing and size are all wrong, the skills are overpowered, and those whips are too fluid to be polygon based.

I wish this *would* happen so my ranger would have a use apart from playing the good ol Spikers, Trappers, And Interrupters which are starting to get borning super fast cause no1 can really play Good spiker rangers excluding decent guild groups or decent rankers

Snare..I think that skill deservers a cookie

Just imagine, 8 man Whip team r/w, TF on! LETS LASSO EM UP KIDS!
